Launched!
permalink |Cor Lummey! The last 24 hours in the life of the weatherproject have been fairly heady to say the least!
Whilst the voting continues over at CSS Reboot and the whole weather-in-a-jar scenario tickles John Oxton’s fancy we had 700+ people through here on the 3rd of May. Just to put that into context: that’s more than the total visits the old site received in the whole of March and April combined! Welcome, whoever you are :)
People don’t seem to have overcome their shyness with the new commenting thing, but the contact form they can cope with so here’s a selection of the feedback I’ve had by email:
- Send us a jar and we will collect some weather from down under!
- I think this is fantastic! The project and the site that goes with it :)
- Think you need a ‘reluctant admirer page’ for people like me (and your postman) who complain like hell but avidly follow ….and sometimes contribute.
- Nice site :-)
- Well done nikki
- Do you want any weather from Devon and Cornwall?
- I’ve managed to have a quick look at the new site and am dead impressed. Pressed all the links and everything seemed to work fine. As the others said a map would be great, is that easy to do?
- Hey there. I am very jealous, great site. Wins top marks for desgin (why does white and grey always look so damm good!). All seems to be working. You have now forced me to re-desgin my site, and yes that does mean that the yellow has gone. I am trying to use CSS instead of tables ( and yes it very easy), but do you have any tips etc?
- The new site seems to contain a fraction of the stuff on the old site and to be less fun! Makes it seem like it’s a new and small project!
On that last comment (just to fill in those of you who may be new around these parts) the weatherproject has been going for just over 3 years now and comprises of about 350 jars and other assorted containers of weather. Most of these can be found on the old site and the process has begun of transfering them over here.
So far enough collections have been added to allow me to test the new format and check things work, but, as of now, I’ll add more to the site on a mostly daily basis. How does about 11ish suit you? (GMT+1)
